Meet Alysa

Scotland Elopement PhotographEr & Planner

My name is Alysa, and I’m a Scotland elopement photographer and planner. I specialize in capturing the magic and beauty of weddings throughout Scotland, and I’m committed to creating timeless and unforgettable images that my clients will treasure for a lifetime.

If we work together you’ll hear me say “If you feel the urge to kiss, dance, or pick each other up and spin around – do it!” I’m a big believer that kisses, hugs, and dance parties make for the best photographs that really showcase you and your partner at your happiest.

If you love puns, being a bit silly, and talking about your latest Netflix binge (mine is usually Gilmore Girls or Crazy Ex Girlfriend – who can blame me) then I’m the photographer for you!

As a Scotland elopement photographer and planner, I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to capture the unique and breathtaking beauty of this amazing country. Edinburgh, Glencoe, and the Isle of Skye in particular are filled with hidden gems, stunning viewpoints, and towering mountains that make it the perfect place to tie the knot.

If you’re looking for an all-inclusive Scotland elopement package with everything you need (from celebrant, to photography, and even a cake!) you’re in the right place.  Keep reading to learn more.

FAQS

Your Elopement Questions Answered

Yes! Scotland welcomes many non-natives visiting the country for weddings and elopements every year. In fact, Scotland is considered one of the most popular destinations for Americans to elope, second only to Italy and Las Vegas.

The good news is that eloping in Scotland is a simple and straightforward process, even for non-natives.

You and your spouse will be expected to give notice, provide the correct documentation (such as birth certificates, proof of address, and your marriage visitor visa), be of the legal age/meet the relationship requirements of Scotland, and be present in the country to collect your marriage schedule prior to the elopement.

Once this is all completed, the elopement process is the same as it would be anywhere: book a celebrant, choose a location and date, and ensure you have two witnesses present.

The short answer is, anywhere you want!

Scotland – unlike many other parts of the world – is super relaxed about where you choose to have your ceremony. This includes outdoor areas and natural spots, such as lochside shores, mountains, forests, and beaches, which are all elopement friendly locations.

Wherever you choose to hold your ceremony, you will need to find a nearby registry office to collect your marriage licence before your special day.

There are so many benefits!

As well as drastically reducing the cost that comes with a traditional wedding, you can relish in the intimacy of an elopement without dozens of pairs of eyes on you. Not to mention eliminating the stress of planning a typical wedding.

Eloping gives you the bespoke, authentic feel that is often missing from trad weddings. To top it off, it also has a lesser environmental impact.

Finally, if you want to explore eloping in scotland packages all inclusive, this can make the eloping process even more simplified.

The fundamentals of eloping in Scotland are detailed above, but for the actual elopement itself, couples have the option of a DIY approach or looking into all inclusive elopement packages in Scotland – of which Wildling Weddings has several!

This includes eloping in Scotland packages from the USA, or any other country outside of the UK.

When it comes to the all inclusive eloping in Scotland packages we offer, all you need to do is fill out the questionnaire and share your vision board (if applicable).

We will then book all of the vendors and connect you with your celebrant (religious or non-religious/legal or non-legal).

In short, we plan everything, while you guys sit back and relax!

There are no set rules as to when you can elope in Scotland but it is important to note that many of the country’s rural spots are closed during the winter months, so it’s wise to check out any opening times for certain locations before booking a local celebrant.

Wildling Weddings prides itself on providing some of the best (and most budget-friendly) elopement packages in Scotland.

Whether you favour a city elopement in the midst of the Edinburgh action, or something a little more scenic and rural, we have something for everyone.
