Stair Arms Hotel, Edinburgh
On a very windy day in July, I headed just a short drive from central Edinburgh to the Stair Arms Hotel, the ceremony and reception venue for Sarah and Richard.
When not a wedding venue, the Stair Arms Hotel is a cozy yet modern pub and hotel that Sarah and Richard frequently visit.
Before the ceremony, I headed up to the room acting as the bridal suite to say hello to the bride and bridesmaids. I captured some detailed shots of the flowers and jewelry (I’m obsessed with these lace-covered shoes!) and a few of the bride pre-ceremony.
I then headed down the stairs and into the ceremony room to say hello to the celebrant, Marjorie of Eternal Soul Light, and chat about the ceremony.
This was a fantastic ceremony to be a part of. Sarah and Richard chose to involve their kids through a ring warming and had a handfasting ceremony with the material knitted by their daughter. The ceremony was full of laughs, especially with a little one who didn’t really realize why he wasn’t the center of attention!
We then headed outside of the Stair Arms Hotel for some wedding portraits of the couple with various family members. It was a windy day but thankfully we found some shelter and didn’t lose any eyelashes!
Overall, the Stair Arms Hotel was a gorgeous wedding venue and reception space and I can’t wait to shoot there again.
Congratulations to Sarah and Richard!
