"Scotland was a bucket list trip for my daughter's senior year and we decided to have her senior pictures taken there. Communication with Alysa was great! She was professional and accommodating. After sharing my daughter's interest for nature she recommended Arthur's Seat. Every shot was the perfect light, a beautiful spot, and the essence of my daughter. It was so hard to choose our favorites we loved them all. Alysa, thank you for capturing this memorable time in our family's life. I am forever grateful."

Arthur’s Seat is a magnificent hill located in the heart of Edinburgh, and it provided a stunning backdrop for Sabrina’s graduation photos and family photoshoot. We met at golden hour on St. Anthony’s Chapel Ruins. We were lucky to have a stunning golden hour and a wonderfully warm evening in March. The light cast a beautiful golden glow over the landscape, making the photos even more stunning.

Arthur’s Seat is the highest point in Edinburgh, standing at a height of 251 meters, and it’s visible from almost every part of the city and from surrounding areas. The hill is an extinct volcano that erupted around 350 million years ago, and its unique geology provides a unique and striking landscape for any photoshoot. It’s also a popular spot for locals and tourists to visit, with stunning panoramic views of Edinburgh’s skyline and the surrounding landscape. In order to avoid the crowds, I love to take families and couples to St. Anthony’s Chapel Ruins, a gorgeous place for views over the city or a naturalist background with the majestic Arthur’s Seat in the background.

As the sun began to set over Edinburgh, we started shooting Sabrina’s graduation photos while the boys headed up to Arthur’s Seat. We got some beautiful shots of mother and daughter and I loved capturing the candid laughs. For me, photoshoots are not just a chance to capture memories, but they’re also a chance to boost confidence! I work closely with my clients to make them feel comfortable in front of the camera and know how to work their best angles towards the light. I love that you can see the confidence that comes through in these shots.

After capturing all angles of St. Anthony’s Chapel, we headed to another little spot that no one else ever seems to be at but has STUNNING views of Arthur’s Seat and the city. But don’t just take my word for it – check out the graduation and family photos below!
