The deposit for wedding photography packages is £350. This is a non-refundable deposit used to secure your date. The remaining amount is due 6 weeks prior to your wedding date.

For All-Inclusive Elopements, 50% of your final package fee is due upon booking. This fee is higher because I book your vendors who also have non-refundable deposits. The remaining fee is due 6 weeks before your wedding date.

I recommend a second photographer for weddings with 50+ guests, when preparation happens in different locations, or if you’re looking for more in-depth coverage of the getting-ready moments. It also allows for more candid shots of your guests and key moments from different angles, like capturing a first look while also photographing the walk down the aisle. Having two photographers ensures more comprehensive coverage and helps tell the full story of your special day.

No, if you book a second photographer, I will handle finding, booking, and arranging all the details with them. It’s important that I choose the photographer to ensure their shooting style aligns with mine. Since they will represent my brand on your wedding day, I need to fully trust them to capture your day as I would. Don’t worry—I’ll still do all the editing of your photos to ensure consistency.

In most cases, yes, you can absolutely upgrade your package later. However, I highly recommend booking the package that you think will be best fit at the beginning because I may not always have availability to extend your hours due to travel and other obligations.

I would love to share your photos, as it’s an important way for me to connect with new clients. However, I’ll always ask for your permission first. In your pre-wedding questionnaire, you’ll have the option to let me know if you’re comfortable with me sharing your images. Rest assured, I won’t share anything without your consent.

The number of photos you receive really depends on how the day unfolds, so I don’t guarantee a set number. For example, if a big part of your coverage is during cocktail hour but you and your guests mostly stay in the same spots and chat with the same people, there will be fewer photos. On the other hand, if guests are moving around and you’re mingling with different people, you’ll get a larger variety of images. The more dynamic the moments, the more photos you’ll receive!

No, I don’t provide unedited files. Editing is a crucial part of my process and is a significant factor in the cost of photography packages. For an average full-day wedding, it can take over 20 hours to cull (select the most flattering images) and edit. I like to compare it to a baker: you wouldn’t just receive the cake batter, because it’s not the complete product. You get the finished cake—frosting and all!

While I haven’t missed a wedding yet, I understand that unexpected things can happen. If I’m sick or unable to attend on the day of your wedding, I’ll provide an alternate photographer and still handle all of the editing myself. The photographer community here in Scotland is strong, and I have many talented photographer friends who do amazing work and are great to work with. If I need to cancel further in advance (due to non-urgent reasons), you’ll have the option of a full refund or an associate photographer. An associate is someone I hire to shoot on my behalf, while I take care of editing your photos.

Scotland is known for its ever-changing weather and there’s a good chance it could rain. If you’re having a legal ceremony you’ll have had to let the registry office know where the ceremony is happening so we need to stick to that location. If you’re having a non-legal ceremony we have a bit more flexibility so we can try to move to a more sheltered location. In general, I’ll bring clear umbrellas and we’ll continue on! If you’re woried about the weather, you can upgrade to an indoor venue that I partner with in Edinburgh.

I shoot in the rain and wind all the time and LOVE the results.

Wedding and elopement packages are more expensive than portrait sessions due to the additional level of service required. For weddings and elopements, I don’t book any other shoots on the same day to ensure I can accommodate any potential delays. I also do quite a bit more planning ahead of time to ensure the day runs smoothly. I also bring extra equipment to prepare for various scenarios that could arise. Weddings and elopements require additional indemnity and liability insurance, which adds to the cost.

Moreover, the editing process is more involved for these events. For instance, I might remove distracting elements like fire exit signs from key images, a service that isn’t typically included in portrait sessions. Weddings and elopements also cover multiple parts of the day across different locations, whereas a portrait session is usually confined to a single event or spot. Lastly, I capture significantly more photos at weddings and elopements, which takes more time to sort, edit, and store. All of these factors contribute to the higher cost.

In most cases, I do not offer venue visits or in-person meetings before the wedding day. I believe that the best work often comes from capturing the natural energy and inspiration of the day as it unfolds. This is why you hire a professional – to trust in their ability to work beautifully in any setting, regardless of prior visits. However, I always offer the option to schedule a virtual meeting, where we can discuss any specific questions or details you have about your wedding.
